Institute of Inertial Navigation and Control Technology

Brief Introduction:

  Institute of Inertial Navigation and Control Technology originated from the hydrography specialty of Harbin Military Engineering Institute in 1953, and developed through specialties of radio navigation, gyro navigation equipment, inertial technology and navigation equipment. In 2001, it was granted as the national key discipline. In 2007, the institute has passed the conformity certification of New Era Company as well as the production certificate of weapons authorized by the General Armament Department and MIIT. In 2008, the institute obtained national first-class confidentiality authentication. The institute mainly offers courses such as “measurement and transformation technique”, “inertial device and system testing technology”, “structure design of precision instruments”, “mechanical structure aided design”, “application of new type navigation sensor”, “motion parameters detection technology”, and “virtual instrument”.

     Currently, the institute has 20 teachers, including 2 doctoral supervisors, 6 professors and 6 associate professors. In recent years, the institute has cultivated hundreds of postgraduates and doctors, finished more than 40 various scientific research programs and achieved over 10 prizes of scientific progress at both national, provincial and ministerial level.

     The institute has held the notion of “combination of teaching, scientific research and application” as well as “combination of talent cultivation and research achievement” for a long term. It has developed the characteristics of “centralizing measurement and control technology while prioritizing inertial navigation technology”, and kept serving the society and national defense. Besides, the institutes holds the aim of cultivating innovative talents. And it devotes to building up its major national first-level “talent education and cultivation base in measurement and control technology”.

Academic Research Areas:

    The researches of the institute covers many fields such as “inertial device and system”, “inertial/satellite integrated navigation”, “inertial/doppler integrated navigation’, “underwater robot’ and “unmanned vehicles on land”. Besides, the institute undertakes the tasks of research and matching of major equipment of many countries in fields like aerospace, ship, weapon and marine engineering.
